The patrol police of Almaty have been given luxury-class vehicles — Mercedes G-Wagons — that were confiscated from the organized criminal group of Yeldos Kospayev.
According to Kazakh politician Aidar Alibayev, such vehicles are unnecessary for the police. He believes the better solution would be to sell them and transfer the proceeds to the state budget.
“The police already have a large vehicle fleet, and receiving luxury cars will only worsen public attitudes toward law enforcement,” Alibayev said.
