A criminal group earned 150 million tenge by selling driver’s licenses to anyone who wanted them.
According to the Shymkent prosecutor’s office, in 2023-2024, officials, including the heads of specialized PSC No. 2, established a scheme for illegally issuing driver’s licenses without passing mandatory exams. The cost of such services ranged from 150 to 400 thousand tenge.
The scheme was uncovered with the participation of employees of the Financial Monitoring Agency.
According to available information, at least 500 people illegally obtained driver’s licenses. The investigation into the case was completed and it was sent to court.
The defendants in the case are 15 suspects, whose property worth 200 million tenge was seized, including two mansions, two apartments, two land plots and 10 cars.
