A jury of the Supreme Judicial Council of Kazakhstan has ruled to punish Abinur Karabayev, a judge of the Shymkent Specialized Inter-District Criminal Court, for unethical behavior.
In August 2025, the judge stuck his tongue out at journalists during a court hearing, which was caught on camera. Two months later, the jury issued a reprimand to Karabayev.
A judge of the Astana Inter-District Civil Court, Asel Dosayeva, who was caught drunk driving, also remains unpunished.
