The National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Atameken, planned to hold a “syutsai master class” in Almaty.
Syutsai is a “science” related to numerology: its followers “decode” a person’s destiny based on their date of birth.
For the training, they invited a “xiucai master” from Russia, Sergey Teplykh, who turned out to have many fake international “regalia.”
After a wave of hate, Atameken renamed the training, no longer mentioning syutsai, and then canceled the “master class” altogether.
It should be noted that Atameken is a national chamber that receives direct government support and is funded by contributions from Kazakhstani entrepreneurs.
