The Kazakh government fears young people, but fails to create conditions for them to develop, obtain an education, and find normal employment, according to political scientist Dosym Satpayev.
In many countries, especially autocratic ones, youth have been the driving force behind revolutions. But fear doesn’t force the government to address youth issues.
According to official statistics, 1 million children in Kazakhstan live in poor families.
Meanwhile, 46% of Kazakhstan’s working population is engaged in low-skilled labor, with correspondingly low incomes. A significant portion of these people are young people.
